4 Non Blondes was an alternative rock band from San Francisco, active from 1989 to 1994. Regarding the song, lead singer, Linda Perry, said that sometimes you just need to scream “what’s going on” at the top of your lungs. She said: “It’s like, ‘Why does it always seem like either I’m struggling, or there’s some f–king political mess happening? Why is this all happening in the world?” Here’s a cool live performance of the song.
