Jacob Lee-Nicholas Sullenger, known professionally by his stage name JAWNY, is an indie-pop American singer, songwriter, and producer. He first received recognition after the release of his 2019 single “Honeypie”, which was later featured on the Spotify playlists, “Fresh Finds” and “Ultimate Indie”. That exposure led to the song accruing millions of streams on the platform. After that, he was signed to Interscope Records in January 2020.
JAWNY is originally from San Francisco and started learning the guitar at age 6. Before he picked the stage name JAWNY, he released music as Johnny Utah. The inspiration was the movie Point Break starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. Unfortunately due to trademark issues, he had to change it to JAWNY.
