La Luz, which translates to “The Light” in Spanish, is an all-female quartet hailing from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2012, the band consists of Shana Cleveland on guitar and lead vocals, Marian Li Pino on drums, Lena Simon on bass guitar, and Alice Sandahl on keyboard. Drawing inspiration from vintage surf-rock, ’60s girl groups, and a touch of psych-rock, La Luz has created a signature sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary.
