Lara was classically trained on the piano from the age of 8, and plays music in the R&B/soul, funk, disco, contemporary and electronic genres. Here’s a word from Lara herself:
“Drifting was written after I had to return to Melbourne from studying at Berklee in Boston due to Covid. I would go surfing a lot in the first lockdown and felt that the waves reminded me how temporary things can be, changing without notice or warning. This is why Drifting has a drone of waves in the background of the whole song. Another fun fact is that apart from surfing I also am a pole dancer!”
