This week I’m obsessed with Mitski’s new album – The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We – which came out a few days ago on September 15th. Bug Like An Angel, the first track off her new album, is warm and comforting while also being deeply sad and lonely.
Mitski, whose full name is Mitski Miyawaki, is a Japanese-American singer-songwriter and musician known for her emotive and introspective music. Born on September 27, 1990, in Japan, she moved to the United States at a young age and began her musical journey in the indie rock and alternative music scene. Mitski gained widespread recognition for her deeply personal and evocative songwriting, exploring themes of identity, love, and vulnerability in her work.
