Mother Mother is a Canadian indie rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. The group formed in 2005 and consists of five members: Ryan Guldemond (vocals, guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals, keyboards), Jasmin Parkin (vocals, keyboards), Ali Siadat (drums), and Mike Young (bass). Mother Mother has established a reputation for their eclectic and genre-bending sound, incorporating elements of alternative rock, pop, folk, and even occasional hints of punk. Their music is characterized by intricate vocal harmonies (an obsession of SPD).

Their music often delves into introspective and thought-provoking themes, addressing topics such as personal struggles, societal issues, and the complexities of human emotions. Mother Mother’s lyrics are known for their clever wordplay and poetic storytelling. They have received numerous awards and nominations, including Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for categories such as Alternative Album of the Year and Breakthrough Group of the Year.

“It’s Alright” carries a message of resilience and finding solace in the face of adversity. The lyrics express a comforting reassurance to those who might be going through challenging times. I see “It’s Alright” as an anthem of encouragement and hope, emphasizing that all of us are human and allowed to make mistakes.
