Rodriguez has a crazy story. If you haven’t heard about it (or him), I recommend watching the documentary called “Searching for Sugar Man.” Bottom line: his music got basically no recognition in America, so he ended his career. However, his album somehow made its way to South Africa where it was a huge success and very influential. But… he didn’t know it… until 1998 when some fans managed to track him down in Detroit.
