This song and band remind me of the movie “Pirate Radio” — a film about a radio station that operated off of a ship at sea because rock & roll was banned. Click here for the trailer of that movie. The Kinks were one of the biggest and best British rock bands of the “British Invasion” of rock music to the US in the 60’s. Apparently, their name is based on the word “Kinky,” which they heard on the TV show The Avengers.
