Time for some soul. Bobby Womack was an American artist, whose 60+ year career included styles like R&B, soul, rock and roll, doo-wop, and gospel. This song was made for the 1972 American crime movie called Across 110th Street. The film takes place in Harlem, NY, taking its name from 110th Street, the traditional dividing line between Harlem and Central Park — an informal boundary of race and class in 1970s New York City.
Fun fact: The popular Rolling Stones song, It’s All Over Now, was actually a Bobby Womack song. The Stones just covered it and it became their first UK number one hit.
